Jumping In With Both Feet

Well changes have been brewing and they bubbled over. You can only put off making decisions for so long before you know they will get made for you. Well I didn’t want that to happen, but I am glad I took a week to decide.
Our gym is moving to a training management company. I met with the company and they really are great. They are going to do great things for the gym. I met with them to discuss the changeover and other details of …

WAHM Value: My Time

I love it. I love discussion. I love making people look good and hard at how their perceptions get in their way. Most of all I love discussion that makes me stop, because truly I have to look at my own perceptions. Chrissy has been really egging on my thinking by continuing the discussion on wahm values. Keep bringing it Chrissy, every post is making me think about something different I may be doing or not doing.
All this WAHM value talk has made me think …

Pen to Paper

Last week was our spring break and I did the unthinkable. I unplugged and didn’t even bring my laptop to my in-laws. I confess I logged on to their computer once and answered an email. But it was only a 3 sentence reply. Oh I also returned 1 text and checked voicemail once. But that was it in 4 days! The latter 2 were work related and they didn’t know I was out of town.

Yes, I found myself doing just that a couple of weeks ago. …

In a competitive world where small businesses need to stand out in order to survive, honesty is even more important. Here are a few tips for running an ethical and honest business:
1. Treat people with respect – You’ve probably been taught to treat people how you’d like to be treated. …

Persistence – A Sure Way to Success

Calvin Coolidge once said:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
Who can disagree with that?
Many, many successful people have touted that persistence and dedication is what has led to their success. Success doesn’t come without …

Picking One Thing

This week on my favorite forums, I posted the challenge to pick just one thing and focus on it. Having your to do list is great, but there are things that are a bigger priority on that list that must be pushed to the top.
This week I focused on my newsletters. I’d been neglectful and hadn’t been posting them as often as is necessary. One of them I’m sure it is because I was making the newsletter too big. I have decided to scale it back …

The Importance of the “Big” Picture in Business

When you’re starting a business, seeing the “big” picture is important. Many entrepreneurs have stated that had they looked at the small details in their business they may not have started the business in the first place. This is because many of us get bogged down by all the small details and often it can put us off starting something new.
If you’re starting a new venture, here are a few tips to help you stay focused on the “big” picture:
#1 – Don’t Worry. It’s easy to worry about the …
