2010 is HERE!

I’m excited. I’m not sad to see 09 leave like some are. It wasn’t my best year, but that also means it was a good year. The amount of info I learned in 2009 is incredible. Considering how much my biz’s grew last year in spite of how I feel I did, I need to move on and grow. This is something I can definitely do.
It’s amazing to me how much growing I’ve done over the last two weeks. In this time with my …

Buying Websites

As I work through my own deadweight some other ideas were brought up in comments about buying some of mine. These came up from someone that I’m helping to let go of her own deadweight. Buying one of my sites MAY not help with that. lol BUT there are some reasons to look into buying a website instead of using your current site.
1. Does this site incorporate a few of your sites into one domain? If so then it is something you should look into …

Pushing Ahead in 2010

If you read my post from mid December, then you know that my first goal is to lose some business deadweight.
This year has been crazy-nuts. I’ve had a few downs with some deaths and illness or injuries, but for the most part it’s been the ups that have created the most chaos.
Basically, we’ve had a blast this year. We have incredible friends that are more like family and we’ve camped and hung out like never before. Then add the skiing/boarding into the mix because our season lasted …

2009 Deadweight

Well it’s the end of the year and this brings reflection on everything. As the super busy holiday season jumps into full swing it means less time to get many things done. But that also helps point out some major things for my business(s). As my time gets more limited my to do list has to get smaller and more jump to the most important things to get done.
This means that some stuff doesn’t make the cut. For me this causes reflection on whether those projects …

The Balance Challenge for Women Entrepreneurs

Not so many years ago, many women didn’t work outside the home. Nowadays, it’s becoming increasingly common, particularly as children get older. This creates many challenges that women in past generations didn’t face.
These new challenges include balancing children and work, making time for yourself, making time for your partner, dealing with the responsibilities of running a household… The list goes on an on.
Even with a completely supportive partner, families may still find it difficult to juggle so many responsibilities. And women may feel that they’re falling short all …

Strategies to Become a Better Decision Maker

Being a good decision maker can help you in business and life. It’s been said that highly confident people make decisions clearly and stick to them rather than changing their minds or being indecisive. I go back and forth with this. I am a highly confident woman, BUT that said I do let others make stupid decisions for me that I wouldn’t have. So don’t let others outward confidence make you feel smaller in anyway. We all have a tough time making decisions in certain areas. …

Productivity Boosters

Lack of productivity is something many of us suffer with. When you work at the office, it’s very easy to get distracted by everything going on around you. And when you work from home, productivity can unfortunately be even more of an issue.

Setting Work Hours

Previously, I’ve fit my online hours in when I can around my offline appointments. This has worked well until recently. Now that I am transitioning to more online work and less offline, I found myself in a bind the last couple of weeks.
My clients were used to emailing me at all hours and getting pretty quick responses. Yes, I had spoiled them in that regard. Also, it shows I check my emails too often doesn’t it? GUILTY!
One client has been pretty …
