Bookkeeping
Bookkeeping is at the top of my list this year for being better. Last year was the last time I could get away with this lazy bookkeeping. I contacted some bookkeepers through my Mom Masterminds Membership. There are many bookkeepers on there so I learned some great tips. Here are some places to check out if better bookkeeping is on your agenda.
Programs that were highly recommended to me:
Internet Tax Helper – Is a program a fellow MMer uses and absolutely loves. She is able to set up special categories for all of her different earnings. Affiliate, auctions, ebook sales, etc. Keeping it all separate so she can see where her money is coming from.
A couple of the old goodies that just never go bad are:
Microsoft Money Home and Business – this is a very affordable option. It’s been around for years and I’ve never heard anything bad about it.
OR
Quickbooks Pro – again, this is a highly recommended program. Alas, this program is a lot more expensive, so do some research on whether or not the less expensive Money would be a better option.
One of the awesome women that helped with questions is Kristine with Online Biz Tax Tips. She has been a bookkeeper for many years and now just does taxes and her financial planning business.
Another awesome option if you are looking to have someone take care of it for you is Tricia of Time Saver VA. She can help you with all your bookkeeping needs and also a lot of other VA stuff. She is very affordable and has years of experience.
I know for me, it being the 5th of the month, I just went and made a spreadsheet of my expenses both on and offline. This will be helping me with my goal setting this weekend. Then, I am going to download Internet Tax Helper because it has a 90 money back Guarantee. If after a month of that, it just doesn’t work out, then I’ll hitthe free trial of Microsoft Money Home and Business. It’s so much better to have options.
