Quick Tips #1

Alright, I’m doing tax stuff right now and believe me I’m way behind. I hate doing numbers stuff which is stupid. How can I know EXACTLY where I’m at when I don’t do the numbers? General idea of how I’m doing is not enough.

But I am excited. Today is leading to a new little category. Quick Tips to add to your biz to make your biz quicker.

First one today is keep up every month on your paypal account. Do a monthly search and then print the pages off. It will have all the expenses, income and fee’s right there and you can write next to the expense exactly what it was for. Now you know exactly what your online income was minus expenses.

Organizing Program

As a virtual assistant (VA) and a business coach, organization is key. But here is my problem. I’m not a naturally organized person. I have owned so many planners in my life and you know what? Not a single one of them organized my life for me. Darn it, I had to open them and write things down. Oh and then even more…I had to open the planner to see what was scheduled. lol

So I knew as soon as I got more than one client I needed to be organized. There was no goofing around with people’s projects, losing info in an email abys, or missing important project dates. Client Spot filled that need perfectly for me.

Buying Ebooks

This tip comes as a consumer and not as a business owner, but of course it goes out to you business owners.  lol

Do you sell digital products?  How do you deliver those products?

I sincerely hope that you are using instant download.  It is a minimal cost depending on the other functions you want. E-junkie starts at only $5 and can put upto 10 products. If you can not afford this as a business, then you are not serious about selling your product. My preference and what I use is Wahm Cart because I have more control and there are no additional costs. I have a lot of ebooks I want to add and I can put up lists and autoresponders. PLUS!, I can have the affiliate program right there with the shopping cart.

Vacation Time?

I’m trying to work out a new time frame in my head. Well actually, I’m trying to keep track of how many months I can go before burn out sets in. That will of course depend on a lot of variables, but I’m thinking two vacations a year is a minimum. Now I’m not shooting for the moon and saying Hawaii and Mexico twice a year. Not yet anyway ;) But just twice a year when I take 3 or 4 days and do NO work. Checking emails is optional. lol

Radio Show

Well I wouldn’t be bringing this up except it’s come up by more than one person in the last 2 months.  Between all of my blogs and twitter, I have been asked and encouraged to start a blog talk radio show.  I do know this is something I could do, would probably like doing and would be good at.  HOWEVER…do I need or want to add something more to my plate?  This is the major question.

The awesome thing is I own the username I would want.  That leaves me the option at anytime since I also own the domain name.  I don’t have to worry about someone else going in with the name.

Working at Home Priority

Well my hubby tosses so many blog post ideas at me on any given day.  Loves to him. lol  He doesn’t even have to try.

Today it was a post for working wahm.  He knows I just got 4 new clients.  Those 4 clients are all starting on Monday.  But of course this isn’t in his brain because he doesn’t have any of that in his planner.

New Year’s Resolutions

Do you set resolutions?  Personal or business?

I don’t set resolutions.  I really can’t remember ever setting them.  If I said outloud some kind of goals it was only because others set them and tell you that you have to as well.  I’ve gotten way too old to listen to others about things like that now.

I set goals.  The difference?  Resolutions are a broad statement.  Goals are broken down and attainable.  I want to make sure that I can follow through with things that I set.  So it’s important to set a goal and then break down how you are going to get that goal accomplished.
