Those of us who are happily operating home based businesses hear this often: “I just don’t have the TIME to start a home based business… I’m just too busy!”

While it may be true, it’s an interesting statement to make, because it implies that someone else is controlling your time. We all have 24 hours in a day. Have you ever noticed that sometimes the busiest people get the most stuff done?

You’ve heard the old expression “If you want something done, ask a busy person.” Why do you suppose this is?

The health niche is huge both on and offline. But setting up a site is often too much work for someone. This is when purchasing an established site is a perfect fit. Most entrepreneurs are risk takers. It goes with the territory of starting and building your own business. But just what kind of risk taker are you? Are you someone that invests in penny stocks, which means high risk, but low monetary input. Or are you a high stakes investor and go for it with high dollar amounts invested and high risk?

If you do open a party invite biz, think of branching out to invites for different party reps. Make the party invites less Mommyish and much more diva. Turn your great graphic abilities into the next dimension of party invites.

Have you heard the term niche website or niche marketing? This has to do with breaking your general site idea down to a much more targeted market. But there does come a time that you can make that niche too small.

First of all you need to research the keyword idea. Some obscure niche’s can bring you money. If there are 3 people a month looking for aluminum dog boxes and there are only 10 sites specializing in them. You may have a market if those dog boxes sell for a high markup. However if you are selling handpainted mailboxes of flamingos and 3 people search for them a month, there are 3000+ sites to choose from and you barely make a few cents on the product, then it is a niche that is not a smart choice.

Did you know you can hire your kids in your business?

If your kids are between the ages 7-17, you can hire them to do tasks in your business, and pay them a wage, just like you would any other employee.

The benefit of hiring your kids is that you don’t have to pay payroll taxes on them!

In addition, your family may realize some significant tax savings by shifting income from the parents to the children.

This is a great tax planning strategy for parents who have their own business.
