I find that I do my best thinking while I’m moving. In order to make the best of this situation I prefer to jump on some cardio exercise equipment. It gets the blood flowing and the monotony of the movement makes it so I don’t have to concentrate on anything except my brainstorm session.
Of course, this can be difficult if I get many ideas flowing too quickly, since it can be hard to write. But I can always slow or stop for a minute while I jot it all down.

Take advantage of all of those pen thieves out there. Marketing with pens is tremendously effective. How many times have you found a pen in your purse and had no real idea where you got it from? I know in my house it happens a lot because my hubby tends to pick them up from many odd places. I especially love the pens when they have a website I can visit and see if it was somewhere I physically went or not.
I tend too keep pens a lot longer than business cards. I do have a special book for business cards I pick up, but the pens are always out where I can see them frequently.

Emotions play a big factor in customers’ buying decisions. When someone decides to make a purchase, they have many options. How they feel about a particular product or service, and the person they plan on buying from, actually plays into the decision to buy.
People do not want to feel as though they are being sold. They do want to feel they are buying a product or service from someone they like and respect. Establishing your credibility and gaining their trust is the first step in getting new customers.

Just because you work from home, does not mean you shouldn’t have a good office space. While budget may not allow for much, you still need the basics of a good desk, lighting, file cabinet and a good chair. A good chair is especially key for all of the long hours you will put in while you build your business. Purchase something that you can adjust as much as possible so you can change your position periodically.

I really hope it goes without saying that a separate business checking account is necessary to keep your sanity. Keeping your business and your personal finances together can only lead to heartache at the end of the year. There are many free personal and business accounts to choose from. So do your shopping and choose appropriately for you.
Ease of use and proximity to you are some good key factors to consider. I of course need the online banking to be easy to use. lol

Remembering to get offline with your business promotion is difficult for quite a few. Since I do work a main part of my business away from my house I tend to understand this. But it doesn’t mean I’m following through either. lol
If I was following through with it, I’d already have my promotional pens and they’d be out everywhere. We have hundreds of people come through the gym each month to either sign up as new members or just to check us out. So I definitely need to get my pens out on the front desk for people to take off with.

My friend Lara has created a great blog directory. Top Notch Blogs only allows the best blogs on the net to be included in the directory. You won’t find all the spammy blogs that only want to sell you garbage and promote their own garbage adsense sites. What you will find is great blogs with real reviews and real stories of life and business posted by real people.
All blogs on Top Notch Blogs are reviewed before approval happens. Most blog directories are automated and anything goes. Visit the directory to see if your blog qualifies as a Top Notch Blog!
